Entertainment industry branding professional, promotions developer and talent recruiter Erik DeSando established a mentoring and ‘big brother” type of bond with young actor Henry Taylor III, discovering a new dimension to his hectic, fast-paced life.
Nationally recognized promotions and branding expert Erik DeSando may be known for developing star talent, but he also believes in giving back some of the good fortune he receives. In DeSando’s case, the two philosophies have had a way of intertwining.
Though he has represented names like Jill Jones, Leah Pipes and Daneel Harris, and worked with celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Mario Lopez and Paula Abdul, one of DeSando’s most cherished relationships is with Henry Taylor III. Henry, who calls himself Henry III, originally hails fromSt. Louis, but he moved with his mother, Towana, and his sisters toLos Angelesto pursue acting when he was about 8 years old.
At the time, branding professional DeSando was a partner in Identity agency, which represented a variety of actors and entertainment talents. Awash in success, the unmarried and childless DeSando wanted to get involved with a Big Brother program so that he could share some of his time and rewards with a fatherless youngster. But he was told that getting started in a formal program would take some time, and DeSando wanted to start right away.
